Go to China started as a fun idea in late 2003, and later involved into a mature concept. In 2009, the trip will be arranged for the 5th time.

 !  Trip history

Go to China has so far been arranged 4 times, starting in 2004. Both times the trips were to Beijing, and the 5th trip, in 2009, will take place in Shanghai.

The latest trip, the 4th one, was completed in August 2007. This time, we had around 30 participants. Many of them are meeting on Facebook or in the Go to China room on KGS. Some galleries from the trip has already been posted. I will provide links to these galleries and accounts as soon as possible. The organization was somewhat changed, with Sun Meiying and Wang Yawei responsible for the practical arrangements.

Go'n'Games arranged the first China trip in the summer of 2004. A long account can be found here. The main teachers were Bao Yun(6d), Cheng Lan(6d) and Luo Luo(5d). The first trip gathered 25 participants, mainly from Sweden.

In the summer of 2005, the 2nd Go to China trip was arranged. This time Bao Yun(6d), Will Zhang(6d), Zhang Jing Jun (5d), Su Yang(5d), Ou Yang Kui(5d) and Ge Qing(5d) were the main teachers. This time the trip gathered an amazing 48 participants, giving us hope for the future, but also requiring structural changes to make it all work.

In the summer of 2006, the 3rd trip was arranged, and from the initial comments from participants it seems it was more appreciated than the previous trips. An account can soon be found here. My gallery is here

For more information from the actual participants of previous trips, as well as from the organizers, meet in the KGS Go to China room (under Social) to talk with previous participants.
