Below is general information for the 2008 Go to China trip, which will take place from June to August 2008 (exact dates not confirmed yet)

Go'n'Games has already arranged 4 trips to China, one each summer in the years from 2004 to 2007.

The basic idea behind the trips is quite simple. We have participants from all around the world come together and study go, get to know each other, and experience Beijing.

What makes Go to China unique is the special atmosphere we create by renting apartments, and hiring people to work together with us during the whole period to make sure the participants are comfortable - and to help arrange special activities. Furthermore, the fact that we have had over 25 participants on each of our trips means that there is always a lot of people around. Whether you want to go shopping, experience the night life or find someone who shares your taste of music, there will usually be someone around.

After the trips, many of the former participants have kept in touch with each other, through the KGS Go to China room, via Facebook and via email.

Because Go to China is the first attempt to arrange a trip like this, we have faced a number of challenges over the years. But we strive to learn from our mistakes, and to make each trip a better experience than the previous ones. Over time, we have come to understand what the participants value the most during the trip to have a good time. Because of our flexible arrangements, we can quickly resolve and difficulties that may arise. We appreciate all feedback from past and current participants, as well as special requirements, which can make your experience even better.

Teaching and go events

The teachers are usually 5d and stronger. Regular teaching will always be in English. Visiting professionals may teach in Chinese with English translation. See more under teaching. Each trip, a number of go related events will be organized, through our network of contacts. Under go events, you can find a listing of some of the events organized in previous years.

Activities and excursions

A number of extra social activities will be arranged every year, as well as day and weekend trips. The activities include chinese lessons, karaoke, and sightseeing in Beijing. We also have lots of experience in making travel arrangments, and can help you make bookings or arrangements if you want to make your own trips. See more under activities.

Living conditions

The participants will live in western style apartments with 2-4 participants per room. This year, because the Olympics will make it much harder to arrange accomodation in central Beijing, we expect to arrange spacier apartments around 30 minutes from the city center.
